Pitch the novel, and what’s that about concepts.

Tomorrow, May 23rd, I am travelling to Montreal to attend the Montreal Mystery Book Festival. I can’t wait to hear the panel authors speak on various topics. I’m excited! I decided to write a pitch in case I’m lucky enough to meet an agent. It’s unlikely, but I want to be ready. This is the pitch:
Mary Dubois, a transgender woman and former profiler, is pulled back into the dark world of serial killers when a letter from "The Rainbow Killer" insists on her participation. As the body count rises within the LGBTQ+ community, Mary must confront past traumas and a shocking family secret to stop the killer before she becomes the final victim.

On another topic, I recently posted about my novel being low-concept. It is character-based because the story explores the emotional and psychological struggles of the main character, but the premise is clear, and the pacing is fast, as is the nature of thrillers. My current opinion is that my novel is a blend of both high and low concepts. It has all the elements that would incite a reader to turn the pages of The Silence of the Lambs or Gone Girl. The Rainbow Killer allows for a fast-paced thrill and an in-depth look at how the main character deals with PTSD and transphobia while going up against a killer out to get her.

I need to prepare an overnight bag because the event I’m attending lasts two days, and I don’t want to forget anything, so goodbye for now.
